National Night Out, New Hope's Night to Unite, is Aug. 1, 2023.
What is National Night Out?
National Night Out, New Hope's Night to Unite, is an annual community-building campaign held on the first Tuesday in August.
National Night Out, New Hope's Night to Unite promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our New Hope neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It is an excellent opportunity to speak with police officers, city staff, elected officials and representatives from organizations that serve the City of New Hope.
Neighborhoods host various events, including block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, sharing of safety and crime prevention strategies, visits from police, neighborhood walks, contests and more.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the event with more than 38 million people across the country expected to participate.
Can I block my street for my party?
The process for requesting to block a street for a party on National Night Out works differently than any other day of the year.
If you want to block your street for your National Night Out Party and request barricades, completed party registration must be received by June 30.
Barricades are ordered in advance, and we cannot accommodate late requests.
Registration
The registration deadline is June 30 if requesting barricades and July 20 for parties not requesting barricades. Complete registration as soon as possible, especially if you want to request a visit for your event.
The first 50 parties to register are eligible for a free party pack!
NEW! The Ultimate New Hope Night to Unite Experience
One lucky registered party will be randomly chosen for the Ultimate New Hope Night to Unite Experience.
This includes:
- A visit from the New Hope Police MGU (Mobile Grilling Unit) to grill hamburgers and hot dogs for your party.
- Drop-ins from all the police, fire and city staff visitors from the registration list throughout the evening!
The contest winner will be notified Friday, July 21.
