Fall Street Sweeping Begins Nov. 7
Posted on 11/03/2023
Fall street sweeping is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Nov. 7, and takes about one week to complete. Crews will start on the north and south ends of the city and work toward the middle. Please avoid parking on the street during street sweeping and keep waste receptacles off the roadway while sweeping is underway.
Rainwater and snowmelt pick up fertilizer and pesticides, dirt, salt, oil, trash and other contaminants on the way to area lakes and wetlands via storm drains. Street sweeping in the spring and fall removes several tons of debris from city streets and helps maintain the water quality of lakes and wetlands.
As a reminder, leaves and yard waste should never be raked or blown into the gutter, street or storm drain. It is illegal and a violation of New Hope City Code.
