The New Hope City Council has appointed Brock Ray to fill the City of New Hope’s vacant City Council seat. Ray was officially sworn in during the council meeting on Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
Earlier this summer, the City Council declared a vacancy in compliance with Minnesota Statutes §351.02(1) and §412.02, Subd. 2a. In accordance with state law, the Council called for candidates and conducted interviews to identify a candidate to fill the vacancy.
The Council approved a motion to appoint Brock Ray to the position. Upon approval, the city clerk administered the official oath of office. Ray will serve as a council member through Dec. 31, 2026.
“Brock brings a wealth of experience, fresh ideas and a genuine commitment to our community,” said New Hope Mayor John Elder. “We are excited to have him on the Council.”
