New Hope celebrated its newest police officer, Julian Kidd, during the Aug. 11 City Council meeting. Officer Kidd was administered the oath of office by City Clerk Andrea Phinney, and his mother had the honor of pinning his badge to his uniform.
The ceremony, held at the start of the meeting, recognized Kidd’s successful completion of his one-year probationary period and celebrated his commitment to serving the New Hope community. Family, friends, city staff, and fellow officers filled the council chambers for the occasion.
Officer Kidd is the 117th officer of the New Hope Police Department. He began his law enforcement career as a New Hope Community Service Officer in 2021 and was hired as a police officer in August 2024.
