The City of New Hope is currently accepting applications to fill openings on the Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission is made up of nine members who serve staggered three-year terms. This citizen-led body plays a key role in shaping the City’s growth and development by advising the City Council on a wide range of matters, including:
- Zoning and platting
- Residential, commercial and industrial development or redevelopment
- Public improvements and infrastructure planning
In addition to regular meetings, the commission also oversees two important subcommittees:
- Codes and Standards Subcommittee – Reviews proposed amendments to the City Code
- Design and Review Subcommittee – Meets with applicants to assess site and building proposals prior to their presentation to the full commission
Serving on the Planning Commission is a meaningful way to contribute to the future of New Hope. Residents with an interest in urban planning, community development or civic engagement are strongly encouraged to apply.
Interested community members can find more information, including an application, online at newhopemn.gov/boardsandcommissions.
