The New Hope City Council has officially proclaimed April 19–25, 2026, as National Volunteer Week, recognizing the important role volunteers play in strengthening the community.
National Volunteer Week, established in 1974, is a nationwide effort to celebrate the impact of volunteer service and encourage people to give back. In New Hope, volunteers are a vital part of City programs, services and community initiatives.
In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed thousands of hours in support of City programs, services and initiatives. This includes individuals who give their time through City programs and events, members of the New Hope Police Reserves, Adopt-a-Park participants, and residents serving on boards and commissions such as the Citizen Advisory Commission, Human Rights Commission, Planning Commission and Personnel Board.
Volunteerism plays an important role in enhancing quality of life in New Hope. Whether through a one-time effort or ongoing service, volunteers help build connections, support City services and make a lasting impact.
The City of New Hope extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers who generously share their time and talents. Their contributions continue to make New Hope a stronger, more connected community.
