Scholarships

Funds are available for families who live in New Hope and need assistance with registration fees for their children and teens (up to age 18) to participate in programs sponsored by the New Hope Parks and Recreation Department.

Funds are available to families who receive WIC, MFIP, SNAP, or meet income eligibility guidelines. Scholarship applications are available at the Parks and Recreation office at city hall, 4401 Xylon Ave N. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A parent or guardian will need to fill out the application form and provide proof of residency with a valid state-issued picture ID. Families are asked to pay for half of the program fee.

Funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Trips, special events, private lessons, competition classes, admission fees, costume fees, golf leagues and rounds, and season passes are not eligible for assistance.

Two charitable gambling organizations contribute 10 percent of their net profits to the city for charitable purposes. The two organizations that conduct charitable gambling in the city are West Metro Fire-Rescue Relief Association and Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association. The 10 percent given to the city helps support the recreation scholarship fund.
